No. The licence to use the software is permanent. Software maintenance and technical support is provided for 12-months with a licence purchase. After 12 months, software maintenance and technical support can be renewed for an additional 12-month term.
What is the current release of Classify for Outlook?
Build 12.1.107 of Classify for Outlook was released on October 16, 2025.
Why did Classify stop working when we upgraded from Outlook 2019 to Outlook 2024?
When Classify is installed, it checks the version number of the current Outlook installation, and binds itself to that Outlook version. When Outlook is upgraded to a newer release, Classify is unaware of the change, and the binding to specific directories and registry settings of the old Outlook version are now broken, and need to be recreated. To restore the binding, uninstall Classify, and then reinstall Classify. The installer will detect the installed Outlook version, and recreate the required links.
How do I change the classifications in the selection list?
When you run Classify Setup.exe it unzips the installation files and copies them to the default directory \Program Files\Mark Wilson Software\Classify for Outlook\
The default classification list is in a sub-directory in the file
.\Text Files\Classify.txt
Typically, before installation, a system administrator would edit this file to be site specific and then run Classify for Outlook.msi from the directory
\Program Files\Mark Wilson Software\Classify for Outlook\ to install for all users.
If Classify for Outlook has already been installed, you can edit the working copy of the classification selection list at
\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\ADDINS\Classify\Classify.txt
